Versa Engineering came to us in regard to some cantilever racking they wanted for their warehouse in Somerset.

What is cantilever racking?

Cantilever racking is basically a steel racking column with steel arms that are fixed to it at different heights to provide effective storage, easy access and organised presentation of long or irregular products such as timber, metal sections, plasterboard, sheet metal, boats and cars. It is most commonly used in building and timber merchants.

Who are Versa Engineering?

Versa Engineering is a dynamic engineering company who specialise in UK manufactured precision engineered lighting systems - http://versaengineering.com/

After conversations by telephone and email, we decided on four single sided cantilever racks which would be 4 metres high x 1.5 metres wide. Each cantilever rack would have a base and three bolted arms 1.2 metres in length. Each cantilever arm could be loaded to 500kg, giving them a load capacity of 2,000kg per level. These racks would give them four storage levels, including the base and comes with a chamfered end & formed plate to prevent damage to, and from, the fork lift truck. The columns would be punched at 76mm increments for arm level adjustment so they could select the correct height they wanted them at when we installed them.

The overall size of the cantilever racking was 4.5 metres which allowed Versa to store their 6 metre lengths of aluminium profiles.

“Goods were delivered within the time frame quoted and installed by a friendly team of chaps who undertook the work with a minimum amount of disruption and disturbance to ongoing works around them.  We are very pleased with the end result, so much so that we have since ordered additional item!” – Rebecca, Versa Engineering

This cantilever racking system was installed in a couple of hours with minimal disruption to their normal day-to-day business activities.
